Bath Open Studios is a voluntarily run group proud to represent and promote all art and craft makers residing in our great city. While each of the seven art trails and open studios has its own individual style, all share a relaxed and friendly welcome. We are committed to supporting artists, showcasing their practice, inspiring Bath communities, and providing opportunities to sell and buy unique and original local artwork.

Bath Open Studios isn't only about the individual trails. We hold group exhibitions in a variety of community spaces around Bath, from the RUH to 44AD to Bath Central Library. As well as giving an opportunity for local artists to meet and share work with each other, these exhibitions showcase the work available all year round in all seven Bath Open Studios art trails and open studios. To submit work into these group shows, artists need only to have taken part in one of Bath's art trails and open studios in recent years, even if they're not due to take part in any this year.
Exhibitions coming up:
If you're an artist living in Bath and take part, or have ever taken part, in one of Bath's open studios or art trails, please follow the link to our 'Group Exhibitions' page where you can submit work to any upcoming group exhibitions. Alternatively, fill in your information in the form below to be added to our mailing list and be the first to hear about future group exhibitions.

'Art at the Heart' the RUHBOS regular holds an exhibition in Royal United Hospital's 'Art at the Heart' - which is an award winning art and design programme that stimulates healing and well-being and creates an uplifting environment for the hospital's patients, visitors and staff. Artists and makers from all seven Bath art trails show their works in the Central Gallery at the RUH. Paintings, prints, photographs, ceramics and mosaic are put on show and, with a third of all sales going towards the 'Art at the Heart' programme, it's a great opportunity not only to buy something unique and locally made but also to support the vital works of 'Art at the Heart'. Showing a selection in the hospital corridors is an exciting taste of the works which are created and available during the trails each year.

44ADWe’re delighted to celebrate the selected artwork of over fifty BOS artists in this exhibition, centred around the notion of ‘Outside the Box’. Whether artists choose to be literal, or to explore art from a new perspective, using unconventional materials or a different creative process, this show provides a novel way of viewing art to prompt you, the viewer, to think outside the box too.
The exhibition in 44AD, an art space that supports emerging artists and their work, feels like a natural home for Bath Open Studios. We’re delighted to be holding our group exhibition in this relaxed and friendly gallery. Like 44AD, Bath Open Studios are proud to support local artists, showcasing individual art practices through art trails and open studios to inspire Bath communities, and provide opportunities to sell and buy unique and original artwork. |
