About the Widcombe Art Trail
We feel Widcombe is a very special part of Bath as it's where the city meets the countryside. Full of history and lovely views, Widcombe is only just over the footbridge behind Bath’s railway station. Recently transformed by the re- routeing of heavy traffic off the High Street, Widcombe is an oasis of charm, an ideal location for an Art Trail!
The community has become very involved in the Trail, with schools, churches and hostelries and the local Action on Hearing Loss centre becoming part of the scene, as well as individual studios and artists' homes - and gardens. Some venues offer refreshments, some have demonstrations by artists, and there are often children's workshops.
We have some very talented artists among our exhibitors, but as well as enjoying the wide range of paintings, prints, sculpture, glass, jewellery, ceramics, and textiles on offer, and the opportunity to discuss the work with the artists themselves (and maybe even commission something special) we know you will also enjoy using the weekend as an opportunity to explore and appreciate Widcombe.
