About the Bear Flat Open Studios
Bear Flat Open Studios was the first Arts Trail in Bath and continues to offer a wide variety of art and craft, including glass, ceramics, jewellery and textiles as well as print, photography, painting and sculpture. With nearly 40 artists and makers regularly showing work, there is always a wide variety of high quality art for perusal and for sale. Come and meet the artists and make some new discoveries while revisiting old favourites. Workshops and demonstrations are featured at some venues and the ever popular Children’s Workshop takes place in Devonshire Place. For further information and to download a leaflet for this year's trail, please visit www.bearflatartists.co.uk
Situated on the south side of the city, a short walk or bus ride from the centre, the Bear Flat area commands panoramic views from Beechen Cliff. The trail includes the opportunity to visit the historic Magdalen Chapel on Holloway and walk up the steps to Beechen Cliff – a walk which is featured in Jane Austen novels. Centred on Poet’s Corner, all venues on the trail are within walking distance of each other and include exhibitions, stalls and refreshments in both the local pubs as well as teas with the Fine Line Art Group. We look forward to welcoming you in our homes and sharing our pleasure in art and craft.
